Review: Team Darryl (2018)
Team Darryl (2018)
Directed by: Taika Waititi | 6 minutes | short film, comedy | Actors: Jeff Goldblum, Daley Pearson
Before filming ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, director Taika Waititi made ‘Team Thor’, which tells what Thor does during his well-deserved break while Captain America and Iron Man save the world in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ to be. The Norse god has retired to Australia, where he turns the life of roommate Darryl Jacobson upside down. ‘Team Thor’ is a mockumentary-esque video of barely five minutes. The Blu-ray of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ (2017) features a new short, ‘Team Darryl’, which shows that after the events of ‘Ragnarok’ Darryl got a new job in Los Angeles and had to look for a job. new roommate. There was one person who responded to his Craigslist ad: The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).
The Grandmaster is obviously having a good time with Darryl and – just like Thor did – learns about life on Earth in his own way. He loves it so much that he decides to become ruler. He soon has a new job for Darryl (watch ‘Ragnarok’ first to avoid spoilers!). Darryl provides a dryly humorous commentary on his new roommate, whom he is – rightly – in awe of. ‘Team Darryl’ is an amusing short that fans of Jeff Goldblum – because Jeff Goldblum – should not miss.
