In 2004, the ladies of the popular Belgian trio K3 managed to attract hordes of children to the cinema with their first feature film ‘K3 en het Magische Medaillon’. The cheerful girls try again in 2006, and with good results; ‘K3 and the Ice Princess’ is a fun children’s film. Especially the magical atmosphere that has been processed down to the last detail is very beautiful and fun for the kids to see.

Karen, Kristel and Kathleen keep viewers in suspense from start to finish. Adventure, magic and swinging are some of the ingredients of the film.

K3 must solve the mystery surrounding the frozen heart of princess Fleur, who lives in fairyland. To do this, they must come into contact with the cause of the frozen heart, namely the dreaded wizard-without-name. When the girls finally find the wizard, they must complete a difficult task. If this goes well, Princess Fleur’s frozen heart will melt. The assignment is that K3 has to guess the name of the wizard-no-name. The observant viewer will probably realize that this story is very similar to Rumplestiltskin’s fairy tale. So the ladies have ended up right in a fairy tale!

While solving the assignment, Karen, Kristel and Kathleen come across many well-known fairytale characters, including Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and even Hansel and Gretel. Unfortunately, all these fairyland dwellers can’t help the girls from K3 solve the assignment. They are all alone and time is ticking…or are the other fairytale characters helping K3 without them noticing?

Although ‘K3 and the Ice Princess’ is a real children’s film, there are also many fun scenes for the parents. For example, Aladdin lives in fairyland. The slicker takes the ladies from K3 on his ‘Super Snel Turbo Carpet’ (Aladdin is not too modest and an absolute player). His flying carpet is equipped with, among other things, a luxurious audio system.

K3 is known for its cheerful, swinging songs. Fortunately, ‘K3 en het IJsprinsesje’ does not lack that. The recognizable K3 sound can be heard several times and makes the film even more fun for the kids. The acting performances in ‘K3 and the Ice Princess’ are good and fun to watch. But the magical atmosphere created by the decor, image editing and costumes is absolutely fantastic!
