To Dr. Edward Wells, (Emmy® Award-winning Chad Lowe) an enterprising biochemist at Bayside University, and his wife, Kim (Kelly Rutherford of Scream 3 and Melrose Place), a descendant of Elizabeth’s, Armstrong Manor is an inheritance. Their restoration of the neglected landmark leads to the discovery of a root cellar, boarded up for centuries and blanketed in a peculiar, silvery mold. When the fungus accidentally gets into a fresh wound on Edward’s hand, the pain disappears. Intrigued, he runs a series of tests. In a bold move, he ingests it.
