Mere Hamdam Mere Dost l Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaz l 1968

Synopsis : Sunil (Dharmendra) is a middle class boy who lives with his mother and sister in Delhi. One day he meets Amita (Sharmila Tagore) who is a very rich girl. At a painting studio he misjudges her of being a poor model and gives her some money. She continues acting as a poor girl and is helped by her companion Meena(Mumtaaz). Ajit (Rehman), who is Anita’s caretaker is not happy when Sunil and Amita fall in love. Sunil and Amita are engaged to be married. At a party, Sunil finds out that Amita is a millionaire and walks out of her life. He leaves Delhi along with his family and shifts to Mumbai. Amita follows him. When he lets go of his anger and accepts Amita he finds out that Amita’s mother is alive and is a prostitute. Later Sunil finds out that Amita’s father is alive and in prison and he is the murderer of his father, he threatens Amita that he will take revenge on Amita’s father. Ajit kills her father and frames Sunil. Sunil’s friend Dand (Om Prakash) helps Sunil and Amita find out that Ajit is the actual murderer.
