Review: Yours Truly (2007)
Directed by: Osbert Parker | 8 minutes | animation, short film
Film icons break through forgotten layers of old emulsion. Brought back together in a surreal city, the story of Frank and Charlie is told as a romance with unexpected twists and turns, as they let go of their standards and get more than they wanted. The film focuses on the technique of mixing old film images with computer animation. Images by Humphrey Bogart projected in cars based on computer animation provide a sublime blend of surrealism and historical images. The sound as it used to sound with film projection gives an extra dimension to this beautiful mix of different animation techniques.
