Erotibot – Karei naru erogami-ke no ichizoku: Shinsô reijô wa Denki shitsuji no yume o miru ka (2011)
Directed by: Naoyuki Tomomatsu | 72 minutes | erotica, science fiction | Actors: Asami, Fukuten, Maria Ozawa, Yûya Tokumoto, Mahiro Aine
About to turn eighteen, Tamayo (Mahiro Aine) is her wealthy father’s heiress. She lives with two robots who have to take care of her, the so-called butler robots. These robots are not just robots, they can really do anything; cook, set the table, and even download a bedtime program so they can satisfy Tamayo’s burgeoning sexuality.
On Tamayo’s eighteenth birthday, she gets her third robot: Sukekiyo. Sukekiyo soon develops deeper feelings for Tamayo and tries to earn a place in her heart. When the other possible heir, Tsukiyo (Maria Ozawa), tries to become the only heir by sword fighting and thus targets Tamayo, he will do everything to protect his mistress.
How director Naoyuki Tomomatsu (“Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl”) came up with the idea to make a film about the sexual relationship between a robot and a young woman may be puzzling, but it’s also not entirely unexpected when you watch his previous films: ‘Eat the Schoolgirl’ and ‘Zombie Self-Defense Force’. Tomomatsu probably envisioned a soft-erotic science-fiction that had to be laced with humor.
Although the story of ‘Erotibot’ of course makes no sense, the special effects are harrowing and the film is actually a hopeless case, it is precisely the humor that really puts a smile on your face. Think, for example, of Tamayo’s first kiss with a robot and a tongue of this robot that can move very quickly. The best part is Sukekiyo who does everything to get Tamayo a cup of ramen and during a lovemaking with Tamayo and robot No. 1 you always see the images of a running Sukekiyo, with accompanying rousing music, while his battery is almost empty. is. That’s ‘Erotibot’ in a nutshell.
Such film productions are often accompanied by an enormous load of violence, but despite the fact that there is a scantily clad sword-fighting lady (who by the way is never missing), there is little room for bloodshed in ‘Erotibot’. And the fights that are in it are so bad that you can imagine why they were mainly left out.
Mahiro Aine is not bad as Tamayo and who else but Asami (‘The Machine Girl’) could take on a part in this film?! This actress is now dyed in the wool with her performances in the most bizarre films. For all Asami fans, ‘Erotibot’ is a must-see. Furthermore, the porn actress Maria Ozawa, who is mainly known in Japan, also plays a role.
‘Erotibot’ is of such poor quality that you should really throw it in the trash right away, but somehow you just can’t help but laugh at the terribly bizarre humor. No, the film isn’t good, but it still offers enough entertainment at certain moments.
‘Erotibot’ will be released on DVD on Monday 20 February 2012 and can be rented from 7 February 2012.
