The zombie is back in full force! The classic movie monster is popular again thanks to “The Walking Dead” and Hollywood is noticing that too. That is why a whole lot of films are canned around the iconic living corpses. One of those productions is ‘Alone’.

In ‘Alone’ you meet Aidan. This dude finds himself in the middle of a zombie outbreak and must save his body. Our protagonist discovers that his neighbors are dying and decides to barricade his home when it turns out that his former neighbors suddenly rise again from the dead. Aidan hopes to hold out with a scarce amount of food. But unfortunately the situation does not look rosy, as the apartment complex is overrun with undead.

The story of ‘Alone’ is not very interesting. The makers probably realize that too, because none other than icon Donald Sutherland is attracted to this film. The veteran probably earned a nice living with it, because he probably wouldn’t have done it for the script. Anyway, in addition to Sutherland, Tyler Posey is also on the payroll. This teen idol also has to convince people to see this film. The cast is not wrong, but deserves a better script. This is clearly a job for everyone involved. If this had been a TV movie it wouldn’t have mattered, but for a movie intended for retail this movie falls short. This film does not stick and offers nothing new.

‘Alone’ is a saltless B-movie. If you really can’t get enough of zombies, Donald Sutherland or Tyler Posey then this is a nice snack. The action is not spectacular, the horror is quite tame and the acting is decent. If you have nothing better to do, as a horror fan you can give this movie a chance. If you’re looking for a good movie about zombies – where the monsters are really terrifying – you should skip this production.
