Prem Nagar l Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini l 1974

Synopsis : Karan Singh (Rajesh Khanna) the son of a wealthy landlord of Anand Nagar develops the habit of drinking. He has been deprived of a mother’s affection & subjected to negligence. The Rani Maa (Kamini Kaushal) who never pays attention to her children as a mother, kills Karan’s nanny whom he used to address as mom. This disturbs Karan & lonely Karan resorts to alcohol & women to fill the vaccuum of his life. One day Karan meets Lata (Hema Malini) a girl with high self-respect & dignity & this is for the first time that he meets a girl who is not impressed with his riches. He hires her as his personal assistant, takes her to Anand Nagar. Lata being compassionate & caring by nature manages to relieve Karan from the drinking habit. Karan develops a liking for her and intends to marry her. But Ranimaa & his brother Shamsher Singh (Prem Chopra) trick Lata. Karan can’t forget Lata & her memories haunt Karan. He develops some sickness, his condition starts worsening. Eventually Ranimaa can’t see his detereorating condition any more & brings Lata back to his life.
