One day Shadab sees Shabnam (Lubna) and falls for her. Shadab starts looking for her with the help of his friends Dhol(Rakesh Bedi) and Sahabzade (Deepak Tijoriwala). They find out that Shabnam is Gulam Nabi’s daughter who had been brough up by her maternal uncle and had now come to live at Kangangaon. She falls for Shadab too. They were lost in the valley and its mountains. They had forgotten the existence of everybody besides each other. This bliss however was short lived. Their togetherness came to sharp halt when Khan decided to send Shadab to work at a nearby village where his factory was not doing too well. On hearing this Sbahnam thought that they never meet again and in order to console her Shadab takes her to the Dargah of Peer Baba where they pray. They vow to spread a cover on Babas grave when they come together again and become one. Shadab leaves Kangangaon. Khan is with the Patwari (Avtar Gill). He wants to own the land that he has been left behind by an old woman who had no heirs. The patwari refuses. Munshiji(Yunus Parvez) is making the arrangements. Shadab returns on the day of the marriage and joins the baraat. He is totally taken aback when he sees the Baraat approaching Shabnam’s hose, he runs back, picks up an axe and strikes it straight on the tree where the two of them had engraved their names. Shabnam refused to take the marriage vows. Gulam Nabi could not imagine Khan’s fury so he forced Shabnam to go with the Doli. At night, when Khan entered Shabnam’s room, she shirekhed and tried to run out of the room. Hajra, who was outside, came and somehow managed to persuade Khan to leave her alone on the pretext that Shabnam was yet a child. Khan left in anger. . Shadab was totally shattered. Nobody was aware of what had happened. Shabnam on the other hand would not allow Khan to come close to her and would cry each time she saw Shadab in that state. Hajra sensed that something was terribly wrong. One day she quetioned Shabnam who opened her heart out to her. Hajra could not believe her ears and blamed herself for being party to such a crime. She tells Shabnam to run far away with Shadab. Far away from the clutches of Khan Bulandi Khan. Shabnam and Shadab meet in the darkness of the night. Khan has already been intimated about it. He chases them and eventually shoots them with a double barrel gun. The bullets pierce through their hearts. Khan has a smile on his face. He turns around and looks back and his smile disappears. The whole village has collected and everyone moves forward. They stone him to death and dig his grave with the stones. . Shabnam and Shadab are at the Dargah breathing their last. They had promised to spread a sheet over Peer Bhas grave when they became one. They were one forever now. They spread the sheet that Shabnam had brought for Shadab over the Dargah and died.
