Synopsis: Inspired by hollywood flick, Chase a Crooked Shadow (1958). Ranimaa, Gayatri Saxena (Rakhee) is leading a pious life, helping the poor and needy in a small town, where her late husband’s family has ruled over generations. One day, a stranger Sunil (Mithun Chakravarty) comes to the town, and claims he is her late husband’s younger brother. She vehemently denies this, but he seems to be having all the proofs to back up his claim. Local cop (Sundhir Pandey) and his boss, police commissioner (Goga Kapoor) also has no choice but to let Sunil live in the palace. Gayatri claims her brother-in-law has been killed in a car accident years ago and calls his ex-fiancy Sheela (Ranjeeta) to confirm the same. Sheela arrives at the palace, and claims Sunil indeed is her ex-boyfriend and Gayatri’s brother-in-law.
