Synopsis: Avinash (Anil Kapoor) comes to Calcutta in search of his boy Ashu(?). Avinash lives in a chawl where he meet Bulbul aka Reema (Rani Mukharjee), who lives there to write a novel. Avinash is in search of Lakhan attack on Avinash and injured him. Avinash is hospitalised. All began with Sujan Singh (Satish Kaushik) who is a minister and Lakhan is his right hand. Sanjana is the daughter of Sujan Singh and refuses to mary Lakhan, leaves home meets Avinash, marry and live in a small village. One day Sujan Singh sees Sanjana and asks her to come back with him but she denies. Sanjana gets killed by Sujan Singh and her son Ashu get kidnapped. How will Avinash tackle Sujan Singh and Lakhan to get his son back?
