Synopsis : Ravi (Dharmendra) is a Fireman, for him love is a virtue. Roopa (Mala Sinha) is a village girl, for her love is faith. Ashok (Abhi Bhattacharya) is an Engine Driver, for him love is tragedy. Jagirdar (M. Rajan) a big landlord for him love is lust. A beautiful village looted in the snow valleys and a small pretty railway station – practically every day a goods train stops here and the village girls take hot water from the engine tap. This daily routine gives birth to a wonderful romance. Ravi, the fireman of the goods train falls in love with Roopa, one of the village girls, who comes to take water. Roopa too falls for him. Ashok, the Engine Driver, of that train and a good friend of Ravi, watches their romance with a thoughtful smile and with a tragic heart. While Ravi and Roopa are completely enveloped in romance and experiencing new thrills of love, fate is dressing up a villain to enter into the realm of romance and create chaos and conflict. This villain is the Jagridar of the same village. One day he meets Roopa in the valley and falls in love with her. Jagirdar tries to win Roopa’s heart, but fails. His failure makes him mad, and in a bit of jealousy he sets out for many ruthless devices to seperate Roopa and Ravi to the extent, that blasts the goods train to kill Ravi. It is shocking moment when Roopa receives the news – “Ravi is dead”. But love is God and God is love. In the end Roopa meets Ravi – not in heavenly but on earth only
