Synopsis : Pritam Kumar (Guru Dutt) is a cartoonist in a newspaper & Anita Verma (Madhubala) is the niece of Sita Devi (Lalita Pawar) the great activist of women rights association who hates men. She doesnt want Anita to get married or to even talk with any mens. But Anita’s father declared in his will that all his property will only be transferred to Anita when she gets married & that to before the age of 21. There is only a year left before Anita turns 21. Sita Devi is very frustrated with this. Sita Devi thinks it over and decides to arrange a marriage for Anita with some hired & trustful person so that after marriage he can give her a divorce easily, by which all the property will be transferred to Anita automatically. They hire Pritam for that, but Pritam is already in love with Anita, whom he had met before. What will happen now? Watch this very romantic, fun-film directed & acted by Guru Dutt.
