Software update: LAV Filters 0.77

Version 0.77 of the LAV Filters has been released. The LAV Filters are a collection of open source DirectShow filters, allowing the most common audio and video formats to be played in a media player of your choice. It is part of the K-Lite Codec Pack and the Combined Community Codec Pack, among others. In addition, there are also media players that already have it on board as standard, such as Media Player Classic – Home Cinema, Media Player Classic – Black Edition and VLC Media Player. Even though the previous release was released almost nine months ago, the changelog only shows a few changes and improvements:

LAV Splitter

  • Fixed: Improved handling of multichannel PCM channel assignments
  • Fixed: MP4 Keyframe information could be wrong

LAV Audio

  • NEW: Support for audio with more than 8 channels, including automatic downmixing if required
