Sigh… ‘Mother Krampus 2: Slay Ride’ is a film that tries to piggyback on the success of ‘Krampus’ from 2015, which made it to the cinema. As is the case with many copies, this is also a poor imitation that can’t match the quality of the original anywhere. That was never the intention of the makers of this production. ‘Mother Krampus 2’ is an easy-going film that hopes for unwitting buyers who think they are dealing with a sequel to a popular feature film. Don’t fall for it! The cheap-looking cover and the ugly font used in this film already reveal that you are not going to watch a top production.

In ‘Mother Krampus 2: Slay Ride’, four young women discover that Christmas isn’t always a celebration. The ladies are sentenced to 30 days of community service in Cleveland, Ohio. With one night to go, they must help the elderly and underprivileged. When they arrive at their final stop, they are warmly welcomed by an apparently nice elderly woman. Appearances are deceiving and an ax splits…

Everything shows that this is an easy-going attempt at cashing in. The acting is deplorable (the acting is better in the school musical of group 8), the camera work poor (in the average washing powder advertisement you still have to deal with better lighting) and the music is absent (except for a few piano tones). Save yourself the trouble and avoid this crap. The kills in ‘Mother Krampus 2’ look fake and cheap. In addition, no character is sympathetic and the cast lacks experience.

The dialogues are excruciatingly boring and the blood and gore levels are too low to keep your attention. Moreover, the villain in this slasher is horribly silly and therefore not to be taken seriously for a moment. So there is no threat. Tip: just watch ‘Krampus’ just one more time. Then you at least know that there is something to laugh and to shudder.
