Miss Fritter’s Racing Skool (2017)
Directed by: James Ford Murphy | 3 minutes | animation, short film | Original voice cast: Cristela Alonzo, Lea DeLaria, Keith Ferguson, Jeremy Maxwell, Jason Pace, Bob Peterson, Asher Terra
Miss Fritter was one of the new characters in Disney/Pixars’ “Cars 3”. She is an old, discarded school bus who has found a new calling in racing. On Thunder Hollow Speedway track, she causes a furore with the demolition derby. When Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez join in incognito, she gives them full throttle. In the end, McQueen and Cruz manage to take her out, but not without our favorite red race car revealing its identity. And then it turns out that Miss Fritter is one of his biggest fans.
In ‘Miss Fritter’s Racing Skoool’, a short clip of approximately three minutes, which is an extra on the home entertainment release of ‘Cars 3’, demolition derby racers Arvy (ex-camper), Faregame (ex-taxi) and Dr. . Damage (ex-ambulance) explains why Miss Fritter is so wonderful and how she has changed their lives. After the life-defining match from the end of ‘Cars 3’, Cruz and McQueen watch this video, with less pleasant consequences…
The shorts are funny, but don’t add much for the non-Cars fan. Think of it as a deleted scene from the movie, where you might think, “Gosh, why did they delete it anyway?” However, fans of the Cars characters generally can’t get enough of their heroes, so it’s a must for them anyway.
