Horror films about murderous clowns are again in demand after the success of ‘It’ in which Pennywise stole the show. B-horror film ‘Terrifier’ with the downright nasty psychopathic Art The Clown also won a lot of souls. If a certain theme or genre makes the box ring, you can bet that The Asylum is there like the chickens to get a piece of the success. This dubious film company does this by making bad copies of blockbusters or by coming up with – admittedly misleading, but certainly brilliant – titles such as ‘Snakes On A Train’ or ‘Transmorphers’. With ‘Clown’, The Asylum once again hopes to fool ignorant grannies and less observant consumers.

In ‘Clown’ things go wrong when a group of teenagers decide to go to the fair for a day. In the haunted house lives a grumpy prankster who is after blood. This costumed killer won’t stop until all visitors are dead.

‘Clown’ was directed by Eric Forsberg. This man was previously responsible for such illustrious films as ‘Snakes On A Train’, ‘Ghost Shark’ and ‘Arachnoquake’. These are not sensitive productions about the weight of human existence or the toll of love. Forsberg continuously makes poorly made, amateurish spectacle films in which heavily dated computer effects dominate.

Why would you go and watch ‘Clown’? Perhaps because of the scantily clad actresses cast for their figure. Another reason could be because you have nothing else to do or because you are a fan of all things clowns. There is also the possibility that you are a masochist or hate yourself intensely and therefore decide to watch this saltless crap to torment yourself. Forsberg has canned yet another, uninspired slasher with no added value. There is no vision behind it, the acting is laughable and the special effects are by no means ‘special’.

‘Clown’ kills your precious time and is actually scarier than ‘It’ and ‘Terrifier’ combined. However, that is not something to be proud of…
