In 1970, scientists Berrington Jones (Larry Hagman), Jim Proust (Ralph Waite) and Preston Barck (Kenneth Welsh) meet in Baltimore to experiment with human cell division.
Twenty-seven years later in Philadelphia, Jones runs Genetico, an infertility research company based at Franklin University, where pretty young psychobiologist, Jeannie Ferrami (Kelly McGillis), studies the links between genes and behavior. She hopes to prove in her Genetico-funded project, that in most pairs of identical twins there is a “good” twin and a “bad” twin.
